The error message in the attached screenshot might appear during initial creation of an event and then clicking on save. This message does not redirect the user to any fix, e.g. invalid data in a field. The user often cannot proceed with saving and must recreate the event.

hey Mat, we were seeing this fairly often at the weekend doing check-in, mostly when it was loading the entrants list (sometimes leaving it would work, usually reloading the page solved the issue, sometimes would take a couple of attempts). We tried three different network connections (venue wifi, tethered to a hotspot, and remote desktop into machines at home) with varying degrees of success (though as the latter was most reliable, I'm wondering if connectivity/caching is the issue).

Jeremy, thanks for the feedback, our Dev is checking logs with the hope to pinpoint the issue.

is there anything I can do (from browser console, network etc) to help debug (is there a session id in the page or anything that would help narrow it down) if we see it again?

I quite often get that annoying little red box appear when I open up an event from the event entry list.
