Event hotlinking

A facility of hotlinking events on the Event Entry system would make it easier/simler/quicker to direct competitors to the correct event to lodge their entry in.
I know the events sit behind the Member Portal login, but it should be possible to provide a link that powers a login and then goes direct to the applicable event.

nice feature - we've used it to link to an event from the website and it's made 'discovery' a lot easier. one addition that would be nice (though not sure how easy to integrate) would be to be able to group all the EE links for an event together (eg if we have a Race event that also has Sprints and Garage Hire, having a single link for competitors would make it easier than having to find 2 or three .... but for now we'll just list all the links)

I am excited to announce that the Hotlink/URL sharing feature has undergone improvements.
The improvements allow all members to copy and share URLs to all upcoming events.
Members can now enter events with just a few clicks.
To learn more about the updated process, please refer to the following article.

Hi Mat,
I've tested this functionality for an event we have setup, though with no result. When linking to the event from my profile with the generic event ID it directs the competitors to the detail of the event though does not give them the ability to log in or access the event entry. It only has the option on the top left to login as event organiser for other users. When testing further when logged in as a competitor to the event entry portal then accessing the link it did allow entry.
Ideally what we need is access for competitors not logged in to be able to access event entry then be prompted to login and enter.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Marc. We are aware of the issue with the hotlink feature and are actively working on a solution.
To clarify, event organizers will be provided with two separate links. One link will lead to the event details page, which can be accessed without logging in and contains an "Enter event" button. Clicking this button will direct users to the entry page, but they will be prompted to log in if they are not already logged in. The second link will lead directly to the entry page, and again, users will be prompted to log in if they are not already logged in. We expect to have this feature available in our next release, which is planned for early February.
Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything else we can assist you with.

John,
I'm pleased to let you know we are planning this feature to be in a future release.
So that we design this feature just how Event organsiers want, I would like some more details from event organisers like yourself as to how you see this working.
So far, we're thinking that all events that are listed on the UPCOMING EVENTS list have a button that when pressed, copies a unique link to the PC's clipboard, the link can be then pasted into any email, social post, website, etc..
When an entrant clicks the link they will be taken directly to the event details page.

Option 1
On the Event details page they will have the opportunity to review the event details then click the 'Quick Enter' button.
Once they click the 'Quick enter' button, if they are not currently logged in they will be redirected to the Member Portal login page, and once successfully logged in they will be navigated to the correct Event entry form.

Option 2
If they are not currently logged in they will be taken to the Member Portal login page, and once successfully logged in they will be navigated directly to the correct Event entry form.

Everyone is welcome to contribute suggestions here.

Thanks for the update Mat
To me this whole process it to make things simpler for our less technically savy competitors - in my experience that still 10-15% of competitors I deal with.
As such dropping them into a quick entry solution could help.
Thanks
