Navigator & Co-Drivers

It is quite common for Off Road events to feature more than one Co-Driver and/or Navigator. For example, a driver/car owner may ‘reward’ their crew by competing alongside a rotation of their volunteer crew members over the weekend. At the moment, entrants can only select one or the other. Can this be increased?

For reporting purposes, the ‘Entry Forms’ PDF report output only list the names of the navigators/co-drivers and or crew as per the bottom lines of the attached. Would we be able to have a PDF report available which includes the navigator and co-drivers’ contact and emergency contact details as well?

We are excited to announce a highly requested feature enhancement for our Event Entry system, now live and available for use!
Based on valuable feedback from our community, we have implemented a new feature that allows up to 5 Co-Drivers/Navigators to be included on an entry. This enhancement is designed to accommodate the needs of off-road events where multiple navigators and co-drivers are common.
We appreciate the patience and continued support of our users as we work to improve our system.

In off-road events, we often use multiple navigators. Could you please add a second navigator field to the entry form? This suggestion was brought to your attention over a year ago, and it would greatly benefit our process. Thank you for considering this improvement.

Thank you for your suggestion regarding adding a second navigator field to the entry form for off-road events. I have merged your post with an existing request for this feature.

As a reminder, we have a small IT team at Motorsport Australia with limited resources. The development priority of feature requests is based on the value to users (popularity) and how simple the solution would be to develop, we determine the popularity of the request by the number of votes and contributions each request receives from members. This feature request had just 4 votes and 3 responses, placing it 13th in our backlog.

If you feel this feature deserves more attention, I encourage you to contribute to the conversation and engage with other members to support this request. Your input is valuable and helps us prioritise developments that benefit our community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Competitor attempting to add a (new) navigator after the entry (Rally) had been submitted. Couldn't find where to do this.
Also, another competitor wanting to change his navigator once the entry had been submitted - same problem.

Yvonne,

Apologies for the delayed response. Initially, I misunderstood your request, thinking you were submitting a bug report, which led me to mention that a developer would contact you for more information. However, after some investigation, we've determined there isn't a bug. It seems you were inquiring about how to perform a specific process.

To change the Co-Driver/Navigator on an entry form, please follow these steps:

Ensure the new Co-Driver/Navigator is listed as a crew member. If not, you can invite new crew members by following the instructions here: help.motorsport.org.au/article/adding-crew-to-my-crew
Navigate to the 'My Events' page and select the event you wish to modify.
Proceed to the 'Entry Details' section by clicking 'NEXT'.
Use the Navigator dropdown menu to select the new crew member.
Click 'NEXT' a few more times until you can click 'CONFIRM'.
The new Navigator will receive an email to review and agree to the Terms and Conditions by clicking a link.
Currently, our Event entry app does not support changes from having a Co-Driver/Navigator (Licensed to Drive) to a Navigator (No Driving). We acknowledge this limitation and are actively working on a solution that will allow for such changes without the need to cancel and re-enter.

We hope this clarifies the process for you. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best,
Mat

Karina,

Thanks for your post. I'll address your two subjects separately.

Regarding your first request, it seems you're looking for the ability to select multiple Co-Drivers and/or Navigators for Off Road events, similar to the 'Cross Entry (same car)' feature available in the Circuit version. To get a better understanding of how the 'Cross Entry' feature works, I encourage you to take a look at its functionality in the Circuit version. Please let me know if there are any specific differences or additional functionalities you are looking for.

For your second request regarding the 'Entry Forms' PDF report, I'll create a new feature request to include navigator and co-driver contact details. Our team will review this suggestion for implementation.

Thank you for your feedback. If you have any further details or other suggestions, please let me know.

Mat.
