Online management of Self Scrutiny forms

might be less relevant as we move away from the Covid elf scrutiny regimen, but having a web form for competitors to complete self scrutiny, and for event organisers/scrutineers for the event to be able to review/sign-off on would help reduce the paperwork mountains!
Could also work for scutineering in general by having it optimised for mobile (phone/iPad)
for locations with poor connectivity, might need an 'offline' mode

This all sounds well and good but in reality I can assure you that not many of the competitors actually click on the linked document/s and read/or complete the form/s.
Is there any way that the 'tick' (= Has read) can't be activated until they have actually opened the attachment/s and completed the form? And then for the completed forms be forwarded to the Event Organiser's email address identified in the creation of the event?
This would save so much time and would [hopefully] encourage the competitors to actually read the information provided to them.
And all of the above to be able to be used/accessed with iphone, tablet etc.

Definitely! all paperwork (Risk Disclaimers, Self Scrutiny forms, checklists, etc..) should online-based where members can fill them out and submit them online using the MA online portal

Ian,
Thank you for your question. Let me clarify the purpose and requirements of the self-scrutiny checklist and the Statement of Automotive Compliance.

The self-scrutiny checklist serves as a guide for competitors to ensure they have addressed all the necessary safety aspects of their vehicle. It does not require submission to event organisers and does not have a specific number or ID. It is primarily a personal reminder for competitors to complete their self-scrutiny process thoroughly.

On the other hand, the Statement of Automotive Compliance (form TSP03EE) is a separate document that needs to be acknowledged during the online event entry process. By ticking the checkbox, competitors are confirming that they have read and accepted the regulations and compliance requirements. It is important to note that for events utilising the Motorsport Australia Event Entry app, ticking the checkbox is a mandatory step to complete the entry process. However, the form itself does not need to be fully filled out or submitted online.

Please keep in mind that these requirements may vary depending on the specific event and its organisers. Some events may still request competitors to provide a signed copy of the Statement of Automotive Compliance at the start of the event, particularly if they do not utilise the Motorsport Australia Event Entry app.

I hope this clarifies the purpose and usage of the self-scrutiny checklist and the Statement of Automotive Compliance. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.

Hello Matt.
The two forms mentioned both require completion of many details. Is it correct that the self-scrutiny checklist, the form has no number or ID, has no value beyond being a competitors personal reminder, and that the statement of automotive compliance, form TSP03EE, can simply be ticked off in a checkbox during online event entry without actually having all the details recorded/entered ??
Thx Ian Williams.

Jeremy,

Thank you for your post.
We have some upcoming changes to the self-scrutiny process aimed at simplifying the procedure and addressing any confusion surrounding the recording of entrants accepting regulations. It's worth noting that the self-scrutiny regimen will continue.

To avoid any confusion, please note that there are two documents related to self-scrutiny: the Self-scrutiny check-list and the Statement of Automotive Compliance. The check-list serves only as a guide for entrants and does not require submission to event organisers. In contrast, the Statement of Automotive Compliance needs to be read and accepted by ticking a checkbox during the entry process for events that utilise the Motorsport Australia Event Entry app. We hope that this information clears up any confusion regarding paper copies that some event organisers may still request to be signed and submitted at the start of events.
For events that do not utilise the app, a signed copy of the Statement of Automotive Compliance may still be required to be collected at the start of the event.

A larger development is currently being planned, set for 2024, with the goal of digitizing the scrutineering process.

Regards,
Mat
