We plan to have vehicle logbooks including all vehicle activity records available on the Member Portal and Mobile app.

Need to consider also from a scrutineering perspective. Currently scrutineers retain logbooks at events and issue them back once target checks have been made. Scrutineers need to make and read notes such as Self Extraction Test, Nil Audit in the Target system, items to be checked at the next event etc. We have tried using competitors mobile phones for easy stuff like proof of vehicle registration and this didn't work in locations with sketchy or no mobile phone reception. Also, viewing information on a mobile phone outdoors is sometimes very difficult. I found this out when I tried to use the MA Crashtag app - I couldn't see the information when out in the daylight. Finally, many scrutineers are of the older generation and will have a much harder time trying to use this technology, let alone read the small font that this most often means.

Great initiative! All log books should be online-based, and hosted on a secure MA database.
